The Rhododendron Rhumba Pre-Order

These 42 amazing cultivars will have you doing your happy dance!

Rhododendrons are among the most beloved of all flowering shrubs with their dramatic blooms in almost every colour of the rainbow. Though they are classics on the West Coast, there are some that are hardy into zone 4 and 5, especially if planted in protected microclimates.

In our “Rhododendron Rhumba” pre-order, we offer a carefully curated selection of some of the most intriguing rhodos with a particular focus on unique colours, compact forms, and hardy species and cultivars.

Sadly, our favourite supplier of unusual rhodos has gone out of business and this will be the last year we have their plants for sale. If there are species or cultivars you really want, please make sure to order them this year. We will always strive to offer cool and unusual plants, but undoubtedly our selection will change quite a bit after this year.

Pick-Up: We estimate pick-up will be in mid April. We will email everyone to confirm the exact date. Our Rhododendrons are only available in the sizes listed.

Canadian Mail Order Customers: These Rhodos will not be offered on our official mail order site in 2020. If you would like to place an order for 1 gallon and 2 gallon pots (larger sizes cannot be shipped), please do so here with a minimum $40 in plants. Orders are shipped as soon as they are ready. If you have ordered other plants and they are ready at the same time, we will ship together. However, if your other plants are not ready we cannot hold your rhodos to wait for your other plants.

Our pre-orders are administered in a separate system from our mail order site which cannot quote exact shipping rates. We expect a shipment of 1-3 rhodos would cost about $30-$50 depending on how many plants you choose and how far you are from BC. Quite distant or very rural locations will cost at the upper end of the scale. Orders greater than 3 plants would cost incrementally more as weight and box sizes increase. That being said, rhodos sometimes are larger than we expect and require a larger volume box which would increase shipping costs. Please note that we do not make money on shipping and charge only to cover our costs.

In order to streamline the shipping process for the upcoming season, all mail order customers will be asked to provide full address information and a shipping deposit of $50. Once your plants have shipped, we will either refund the remainder of your deposit if the shipping is less or send you a PayPal money request if the shipping is more which you can pay with a credit card or PayPal account. We expect that in most cases we will be refunding a portion of your deposit.
