Description
Viola pedata ‘Eco Artist Palette’ is a cute little bird foot violet whose common name refers to its narrow, dissected foliage resembling that of a bird’s foot. The reflexed petals are lilac-blue on the bottom and purple on the top covering its dense, low growing, clumping form to 4-6 inches tall and 12-14 inches wide. Blooms in spring with sporadic rebloom until frost. Use in a rock garden, along pathways, or at the front of a border, and in small containers. Attracts butterflies. Deer resistant. A native of southern Ontario where it reaches the northern limit of its range and is an endangered species.
