Description
Spigelia marilandica is a striking and beautiful eastern North American native perennial known as Indian pink. ‘Apple Slices’ has tubular, wine red flowers with yellow throats blooming from late spring into midsummer. Expect a nice compact, rounded mound up to 22 inches tall 18 inches wide. Use in the cottage or woodland garden, in containers and the vase. Very floriferous in full sun however very versatile from sun to shade. Long-lived once established. Wildly popular with hummingbirds and other pollinators. Somewhat deer resistant but not always. If you garden with deer, keep your Spigelia close.
