Description
Solanum tuberosum ‘German Butterball’ is a European heirloom golden russet-style potato. They are round and consistently medium to large sized with smooth yellow skin and yellow flesh. Good disease tolerance and excellent storage capacity for several months after harvesting. An all purpose potato suitable for baking, boiling or frying similar to ‘Yukon Gold’. Can be harvested early for baby potatoes too! Loose soils are preferable for higher production in the ground or large containers. Plant in early spring while soil is still cool. Hilling up potato plants increases yield.
