Description
Sambucus canadensis ‘Ranch’ is a North American native elderberry bred for its reliable yield of medium sized, delicious, edible, black berries. White flowers bloom in clusters in spring followed by the berries in the fall. A very hardy, fast growing shrub to 6 feet tall but more compact than other cultivars. Partially self-fruiting but appreciates another variety close by to improve yield. More sun produces more berries. Use the fruit in jams, jellies, pies, wines, and syrup. Attracts hummingbirds and bees.
