Description
Ribes rubrum ‘Honeywood’ is a newer cultivar of red currant producing large clusters of red berries good for fresh eating or preserves but said to be excellent for making red currant wine. All currants are rich in antioxidants and have a much higher vitamin C content than oranges. They can be eaten fresh or used for jams, jellies, and juices. They are easy-to-grow, self-fertile, and very hardy to at least zone 3.
