Ribes nigrum ‘Swedish Black’ is a superior black currant variety with firm, large, sweet, juicy, and mild berries with the distinctive black currant aroma. Berries are sweeter and less acidic than most other cultivars. Plants are compact to just 3 feet high and wide. Currants are much higher in vitamin C than oranges. A very hardy and disease resistant, upright growing bush.
