Description
Rhododendron ‘Taurus’ features deep red buds in winter opening in late spring to large, rounded trusses of solid red, funnel-shaped flowers with dark maroon flecks on the upper petals. Large, glossy dark-green foliage provides a beautiful contrast. Plants can reach 6-8 feet tall and wide. Responds well to pruning after flowering. Benefits from evenly moist, well-drained, slightly acidic-based soil and mulch. Use as an informal privacy hedge, accent, foundation, mass planting and for winter interest. Attracts bees and bumblebees. Deer and rabbit resistant.
