Description
Silverlace vine (Polygonum aubertii) is a large, vigorous vine perfect for providing quick cover to walls and fences or as a ground cover for large areas particularly to cover slopes or unsightly objects or topography in the garden. Plants can grow by six feet a year, can spread by underground rhizomes, and can be semi-evergreen in mild climates. They are covered with masses of small, fragrant white to creamy white flowers in late summer and fall. Leave as is to reach 25-35 feet tall or hard prune in late winter or early spring to keep it contained. Tolerant of salt. Appreciated by birds and butterflies.
