Description
Phygelius x rectus ‘Salmon Leap’ is a Cape fuchsia from South African bringing originality and flower power to any setting. Bright apricot-orange panicles of pendulous tubular flowers outperform expectations from summer to autumn not only in colour but also in form. This sun-loving perennial also tolerates part shade, clumps and does not spread with an upright, mounding growth habit of 36 to 48 inches tall and wide. Cut back hard in the spring and pinch out occasionally to get good bushy form. Winter mulch. Awesome in the middle to back of the border, as a specimen, in the mixed container as both filler and thriller. Attracts hummingbirds. Deer resistant. Photo credit Wikimedia
