Description
Olea europaea ‘Picholine’ is grown in the south of France and is the most widely available cultivar in that country. It produces medium sized, green olives with a mild, nutty flavour and is a popular cocktail olive. Fruit can also be left to turn black and used to make a fruity olive oil with a hint of bitterness. Partially self fertile, it will produce more fruit in the presence of another olive cultivar. Plants are medium sized and adaptable to a range of growing conditions. Photo: Wikipedia.
