Description
Miscanthus sinensis ‘Serengeti’ is a graceful dwarf ornamental maiden or flame grass offering a menagerie of colour all season long. New foliage is variegated with bold white central bands maturing to shades of purple and red as the season progresses. Vibrant red shoots emerge in summer that rise to display coppery flower panicles that bloom from midsummer well into fall. Great architectural foliage for border movement and interest. Miscanthus are one of the best grasses for year-round beauty. Flowers and foliage fade to straw-yellow over the winter and are beneficial for overwintering birds and insects. Use as a screen, specimen, wind break, for soil erosion, patio containers and for dried flower arrangements. Deer resistant.
