Description
Miscanthus sinensis ‘Ibiza’ is a graceful ornamental dwarf maiden or Chinese silver grass. Green and maroon foliage is slender and arching providing movement in the garden with the red tones developing and deepening through summer into fall. Rich red flower panicles emerge above the foliage in late summer for a striking contrast. Miscanthus are one of the best grasses for year-round beauty. New green shoots in the spring become tall linear leaves that form an elegant clump by midsummer. Attractive flowers emerge in late summer and fall. Plants provide good winter interest with persistent flower plumes and tan foliage. Cut to the ground in spring just before the new foliage begins to emerge. Use as a screen, specimen, wind break, for soil erosion, patio containers, and for dried flower arrangements. Deer resistant.
