Description
The Balang blue poppy, Meconopsis balangensis, is an extremely rare relative of the legendary Himalayan blue poppy. The flowers can range in colour from rich blue to lavender blue, violet, and even dark purple. A Wikipedia image search will show you the range of possibilities. The flowers are borne with multiple buds on a single stalk. Prefers peaty, well-drained soil that is kept evenly moist in summer and bright but indirect light. Prefers regions with cool summers and resents heat and humidity. Hardy at least to zone 5 but possibly hardier. Photo: Jelitto.
