Description
Lycoris aurea is a rare amaryllis relative that has showy, yellow, spider-like flowers in late summer or autumn with strap like foliage 2 inches wide that emerges after the flowers fade. It is the largest Lycoris in all respects. Lycoris resent disturbance and can take a little time to start blooming again after planting. They are dormant in summer, bloom in late summer and fall, and have strap-like foliage in fall, winter, and/or spring.
