Description
Lavandula angustifolia ‘Royal Velvet’ is an English lavender with eye-popping 3 to 4 inch long flower spikes of rich, dark navy blue calyxes and violet corollas on long stems. Bred for its rapid growth, long-lasting blooms and tolerance to wet winters. Blooming starts in late spring to early summer. To encourage rebloom, shear after the first flush in summer for new flowers in late summer to fall! Plants will reach 24-30 inches tall and a 30-36 inches wide. Requires well drained soil and full sun. Use in borders, rock and herb gardens, mass plantings, and as edging along walkways. Massive pollinator attractor. Deer and rabbit resistant.
