Description
Lamium maculatum ‘Aureum’ is a showy perennial ground cover called spotted deadnettle that forms spreading patches of small, lime green to chartreuse leaves with central silver stripes. Small, hooded lavender-pink flowers emerge in late spring in attractive whorls and continue on and off until fall. Fairly tolerant of dry shade once established. Grows 6-8 inches tall and 12-24 inches wide. Great in beds, border edges, containers, and as a ground cover along pathways or for underplanting larger shade perennials, trees, and shrubs. Pollinator attractor. Deer and rabbit resistant.
