Description
‘Valentino’ has rich red flowers that will glow in the garden. The standards are warm coppery red which catch fire when lit from behind. The falls are velvety rich burgundy with bright yellow beards. Beautifully fragrant. Blooms in the early, mid and late season with excellent branching. A vigorous grower. Tall Bearded (TB) irises, previously known as Iris germanica, have greyish strap-like, pointed leaves from fleshy rhizomes and tall stems of gorgeous, often fragrant, flowers that come in every colour of the rainbow. Divide every two to three years (or when clumps become congested and flowering decreases) just after blooming. Trim the foliage back to a third and plant the rhizomes at or just below soil level. Deer and rabbit resistant.
