Description
The Japanese irises offer the largest flowers of all iris groups with very interesting colour combinations. They prefer full sun and moist soil. Iris ensata Dinner Plate ‘Ice Cream’ has periwinkle-blue flowers with white margins. Blooms can reach 8 inches wide! Blooms in early summer. The foliage is green, lance-shaped, and held vertically much like a Siberian iris. Thrives in damp borders and pond or stream edges but can be grown in average garden situations with reasonable moisture. Pollinator attractor. Deer and rabbit resistant.
