Description
Japanese irises offer the largest flowers of all iris groups with very beautiful colour combinations and patterns. They prefer full to part sun and moist to wet soil. Iris ensata Dinner Plate ‘Don en Donna’ has large, six inch wide, semi-double light blue blooms beautifully veined with darker blue hues, dark blue standards and golden-yellow signal centres. Blooms in early summer. The foliage is green, lance-shaped, and held vertically much like a Siberian iris. Thrives in damp borders and pond or stream edges but can be grown in average garden situations with reasonable moisture. Pollinator attractor. Deer and rabbit resistant.
