Description
Japanese irises offer the largest flowers of all iris groups with very beautiful colour combinations and patterns. They prefer full to part sun and moist to wet soil. Iris ensata Dinner Plate ‘Cheesecake’ has large, six inch wide, semi-double, ivory white flowers overlain with warm purple markings with golden-yellow signals. It’s like a cheesecake topped with blueberry sauce! Blooms in early summer. The foliage is green, lance-shaped, and held vertically much like a Siberian iris. Thrives in damp borders and pond or stream edges but can be grown in average garden situations with reasonable moisture. Pollinator attractor. Deer and rabbit resistant.
