Description
Iris cristata ‘Powder Blue Giant’ is considerably huskier and more vigorous than the species. It produces 3 inch wide flowers of light blue with golden crests and deep blue accents. Vigorous and easy to grow! It is great along the woodland path, in a shaded rock garden, as a small scale ground cover, or in front of shrubs or larger perennials. Divide every few years to maintain flowering vigour. Dwarf crested iris is an eastern North American native that grows in shaded habitats. It forms spreading mats just 3-6 inches high and 12-24 inches or more wide given time. Tolerant of dry shade. Deer resistant. Protect from slugs when leaves are first emerging with an organic slug bait.
