Description
Heliopsis helianthoides ‘Fire Twister’ is a false sunflower with deep burgundy foliage supporting larger than usual, reddish orange, semi-double blooms of up to 3.5 inches wide surrounding a central cone of brownish-yellow. Flowers bloom throughout summer on sturdy stems of up to 30 inches tall with a nice clumping habit of up to 24 inches wide. Deadhead to extend blooming season. Use in the mixed border, in containers, and as cut or dried flowers. Attracts pollinators and birds. A Canadian native from Saskatchewan to Newfoundland.
