Description
This is a reliably hardy selection of the not-so-hardy Gelsemium sempervirens or Carolina jessamine from the subtropical US southeast. This vine offers a profuse display of clear yellow trumpet flowers in late spring and early summer with semi-evergreen foliage. ‘Margarita’ is a superior clone with much larger, more prominent flowers than the species and has won a Gold Medal Award from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. Also popular with butterflies and hummingbirds.
