Description
Fuchsia magellanica is the hardiest of the genus. It has arching stems to 2-4 feet high with small, pendulous flowers for months on end through summer and fall. They are popular with hummingbirds and bees. ‘Alba’ offers pale pink (not white) flowers. For pure white you’ll want ‘Hawkshead’. Grow in the ground or in containers. In colder zones plants can die back to the ground. In milder zones plants can remain semi-evergreen. Possibly hardy into zone 4 or 5 with heavy mulching in a protected microclimate. Deer resistant.
