Description
Fragaria x ananassa ‘Ruby Ann’ is a ornamental and edible, ever-bearing strawberry plant that produces runners and very showy, ruby-red flowers. The fruit produced is medium-sized and sweet. Plant size can reach 8-12 inches in height by 24-36 inches in spread. A low maintenance plant, very easy to grow and keeps on producing. Perfect for hanging baskets and containers. Avoid planting in the same space where solanum/nightshade plants had been planted the previous year. Attracts song birds. Everbearing strawberries produce their first crop in spring and continue producing in six week intervals until fall. Prefers organically rich, evenly moist soils with good drainage in full sun.
