Description
Filipendula rubra ‘Venusta’ is known as meadowsweet or queen of the prairie. It is a tall, stately, 4-8 foot high, super hardy perennial with gorgeous, cloud-like, sprays of small pink flowers from deeper pink buds. Both the flowers and the bright green, deeply cut foliage are fragrant. Its upright form provides dramatic effect in the back of the border, as an accent plant, in cottage garden plantings, and along streams and ponds. Popular with bees and butterflies. Deer and rabbit resistant. A Canadian native from Ontario to Newfoundland.
