Description
Ficus carica ‘Desert King’ is very productive and reliable especially in cool summer climates, producing abundant, yellowish-green figs with sweet and richly flavourful, strawberry coloured flesh. In coastal BC it ripens in early to mid August with abundant crops produced over about three weeks. Get ready to eat fresh figs every day, serve them with goat cheese or mascarpone wrapped in prosciutto, and make fig jam. You’ll likely have so many you’ll have to give them to friends and neighbours!
