Description
Eupatorium coelestinum, now known scientifically as Conoclinium, is a North American native called blue mistflower. The flowerheads of small, fluffy, bright violet-blue flowers are held in flat clusters on strong, upright, purple stems 18-36 inches tall from mid summer to late fall. The foliage is coarsely-toothed and bright green. Great in the middle to back of the border, in rain gardens, naturalistic or meadow settings and for erosion control. Pollinator magnet for butterflies and bees. An Ontario native.
