Description
For those of you who love a classic Echinacea there is ‘Magnus’, the best performing purple coneflower for the coastal BC climate and indeed for any climate. Beautiful rose-pink ray petals with a coppery-brown, spiky central cone comprise the huge, flat flower heads. Newer blooms are more intense in colour and fade to pale rose as they age, lending a bicolour effect to the clump. Plant in full sun in average (not overly rich), well-drained soils. Avoid soils that are overly moist in winter. Perennial Plant of the Year 1998.
