Diospyros kaki ‘Do Geun Jo Sang’ Phoenix is an outstanding early-ripening Korean persimmon with heavy crops of large, sweet, flavourful, bright orange fruit. Early-ripening varieties are particularly good for cool summer climates like the West Coast or other northerly regions with shorter summers. The fruit is astringent and can be eaten when soft and tender like a tomato. Excellent fall colour. Persimmons are one of the most popular fruits in Asia and treasured for fresh eating or desserts. Self-fertile.
