Description
Dicksonia antarctica, the Tasmanian tree fern, is an impressive specimen and one of the oldest plants in the world. They add drama and style to a semi-shady spot or patio container and will happily grow in any soil as long as the trunk is kept moist. Plant in a protected location such as near the house. In mild winters in coastal BC they will sail through but in cold winters they should be wrapped with burlap and straw or pink insulation. In colder climates protect indoors. Keep humidity up and don’t let dry out.
