Description
Clematis crispa is known as blue jasmine or swamp leatherflower and hails from the southeastern US. It is a species from the Viorna Group with small, nodding, lightly fragrant, urn-shaped flowers in shades of pale blue to violet that bloom from early spring to early fall followed by fluffy ornamental seed heads which are popular with birds. Vines can reach 6-10 feet tall. It can be grown from average to moist to even wet conditions in sun to part shade. Pruning group C.
