Description
Katsura, Cercidiphyllum japonicum, is a medium to large tree native to China and Japan with a beautiful shape and lovely, small, heart-shaped leaves that emerge flushed with burgundy, age to blue-green, and then turn shades of pink, red, orange and yellow in autumn when the leaves can give off a lovely burnt caramel aroma. It has inconspicuous flowers. Trees will typically reach 40-50 feet over time. ‘Morioka Weeping’ is a graceful, pendulous form that will become a year-round sculptural centrepiece in any garden. For the 2025 Rare Flowering Tree Pre-Order plants will be in 1g pots and about 1-2 feet tall. Photo: Wikipedia.
