Description
The giant scabious (Cephalaria gigantea) is an imposing yet airy perennial growing 6-10 feet tall with pale primrose yellow pincushion-like flower heads held on long, naked stems that sway in the breeze well above the pinnate, basal foliage. A perfect back of the border plant for late summer colour and movement. Or bring it forward to the middle of the border and take advantage of its see-through habit. Fabulous backed by a deep green hedge. Very popular with bees and butterflies.
