Description
Beesia deltophylla is a handsome, evergreen, shade perennial with glossy, deep green, heart-shaped leaves tinged in purple when new that form dense rosettes up to 12 inches across. It’s one of our favourite shade plants at Phoenix. There aren’t that many evergreen plants for the shade so we’re lucky that this plant is so tough and beautiful. Spires of small, airy white flowers rise up to 12 inches above the foliage in mid to late spring repeating later in the season. Excellent in well-drained yet evenly moist soil in full or partial shade. Use as an accent, mass plant as a ground cover, or used in mixed containers.
