Description
Aastrantia maxima is known as the large masterwort. It has intriguing thimbles of rose-pink, pincushion flowers held above broad, pink bracts. The flower heads can be 2-3 inches wide, are long lasting, and are borne on branching stems above its lush green mound of foliage. Flexible for many light conditions with even moisture. Excellent in the mixed border, cottage, coastal and woodland gardens. Plant in drifts for maximum appeal. Excellent as cut flowers whether fresh or dried. Attracts bees and butterflies. Deer and rabbit resistant.
