Description
Astilbe chinensis ‘Mighty Chocolate Cherry’ is a false spiraea with densely packed upright flower plumes of tiny, cherry-red flowers opening in succession for a long-lasting floral display on chocolate-red stems. Fern-like, dark green foliage infused with chocolate and red overtones serve as an impressive backdrop and remains attractive all season long. Can reach 3-4 feet tall. Use in groupings in the border, near streams or ponds, in containers where the foliage will offer multiple seasons of interest, and for cut flowers. Needs even moisture especially in hot weather. Pollinator attractor. Deer and rabbit resistant.
