Description
Aster ericoides ‘Snow Flurry’ is an award-winning heath aster for good reason. It’s cold hardy, drought tolerant once established, a pollinator magnet and tolerant of pests and black walnut. It offers exceptional autumn appeal with mats of tiny, pure white, daisy-like flowers by the hundreds with golden centres that smother its low arching stems. Heather-like foliage is pubescent and gray-green. Its unique mat-forming habit of 4-6 inches tall and 2-4 feet wide make it a great ground cover in the mixed sunny border, the rock garden, edging a garden path, or spilling over a wall. An important late season nectar source for bees and butterflies. Now known scientifically as Symphyotrichum ericoides.
