Description
Ajuga incisa is an unusual clumping bugleweed with upright stems to 16 inches tall covered in mid green, serrated foliage topped with long, tubular blue flowers with purple bases reminiscent of Salvia. It is a herbaceous perennial. Perfect for stumping your know-it-all gardening friends and appreciated by bees and hummingbirds in spring. Known as Hiiragi-sou in Japan which translates as something like holly leaf weed so we’ll call it the holly leaf bugleweed.
