Description
Agave parryi ssp. couesii is a smaller form of the hardy Parry’s agave. It forms wide, beautifully symmetrical and dramatic rosettes composed of fairly narrow and long blue-green foliage with teeth along the margins and a terminal spine. Its form is different than other subspecies that tend to have more truncated and rounded leaves. Plants will reach about 18 inches tall with a 30 inch spread. In our region, protect from winter rain with extremely sharp drainage or overhead cover. Produces pups to keep your clump going! Hardy to zone 6b. Use as a specimen in xeriscapes, for a tropical effect in conatainers and as a houseplant. Deer and rabbit resistant.
