Description
Agapanthus Fireworks is a striking bicolour lily-of-the-Nile. Its slender stalks to 2.5 feet high display huge, spherical umbels of two-tone flowers with violet blue bases grading outwards to pure white. Blooms are produced abundantly in summer. Plants are compact and clump-forming with lush, broad, strap-shaped leaves. Thrives in full sun and fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Awesome in the perennial border, grown in swaths, and in containers (where many gardeners find Agapanthus easier to bloom). A great cut flower. Mulch each winter with fallen leaves or protect above freezing in its pot. Hummingbird and bee attractor. Deer resistant. Cultivar name: ‘Mdb001’.
