Description
Bottlebrush buckeye, Aesculus parviflora, is a large suckering shrub topped with dramatic summer spires up to 12 inches high of tubular white flowers with red anthers and pink filaments. The subtropical-looking palmate leaves each have 5-7 leaflets and turn yellow in autumn. Tolerant of wet soils and shade, even deep shade, and will still produce flowers. If you have the space, this is a spectacular addition to the summer garden. Usually grows to 10 feet tall and wide, sometimes larger. Attracts hummingbirds bees, and butterflies. For the 2025 Rare Flowering Tree Pre-Order plants will be in 1g pots and about 2 feet tall.
