Description
Aconitum ‘Newry Blue’ is a cold-hardy monkshood with upright spikes of deep blue, hooded flowers displayed on strong, vertical stems to 4-5 feet high in summer. The foliage is nicely divided. Bred in Ireland around 1900. Full sun to part shade. Makes for a great vertical accent in the mid to back of the border, especially when planted in groups. Also makes a lovely cut flower for bouquets. All parts of the plant are poisonous so don’t use it in salads. Pollinator attractor, especially bees. Deer resistant.
