Zephyranthes rosea

Zephyranthes rosea or Cuban zephyr lily is an amaryllis relative with beautiful pink flowers centred with yellow.

Zephyranthes rosea or Cuban zephyr lily has narrow foliage that gives rise to beautiful pink flowers in summer and fall. In their natural habitats rain lilies are famous for blooming after heavy rains. Z. rosea is native to the Caribbean including Cuba and Puerto Rico. Despite its tropical range, this species is proving hardy in zone 7 with protection. Also easy to grow in containers. In colder regions bring pots into a frost-free area and allow to go dormant until spring.
