Zephyranthes citrina

Zephyranthes citrina or citron zephyr or rain lily is an amaryllis relative with beautiful deep yellow flowers.

Zephyranthes citrina or citron zephyr or rain lily has narrow foliage that gives rise to cute, deep yellow flowers in summer and fall. In their natural habitats rain lilies are famous for blooming after heavy rains. Z. citrina is native to the Yucatan Peninsula and perhaps other neighbouring regions. Despite its tropical range, this species is proving hardy in zone 7 with protection. Also easy to grow in containers. In colder regions bring pots into a frost-free area and allow to go dormant until spring. (Syn: Z. sulphurea)
