Yucca filamentosa ‘Color Guard’

Rosettes of spiky, strap-like leaves with gold centres are often flushed with pink in cold weather. As per the species name the leaf margins have long filamentous curly white threads. In summer Adam’s needle will often, but not always, form a 4-6 foot tall candelabra of creamy white, waxy, bell shaped flowers. Tolerant of poor, sandy soils and part shade though full sun is best.
