Vaccinium ovatum ‘Cascade Sunburst’

Vaccinium ovatum 'Cascade Sunburst' is a compact, evergreen huckleberry with pink flowers, variegated foliage, and edible berries.

Vaccinium ovatum ‘Cascade Sunburst’ is in a league all its own when it comes to BC native plants. This evergreen huckleberry has distinctive, variegated foliage! The leaves are oval, glossy, and finely serrated displaying vivid colours of green and yellow with glowing coral on new growth. As the season progresses, the coral gradually fades to green. Racemes of pale pink, urn-shaped flowers bloom in spring followed by glossy dark blue to near-black, edible berries in the summer. Plants reach 4 feet tall and wide. Self-fertile. Use as an informal hedge, specimen, and in pots on the patio. Hummingbird and butterfly attractor. Deer resistant.
