Vaccinium corymbosum Cabernet Splash
Vaccinium corymbosum Cabernet Splash is a compact blueberry with white flowers, tasty fruit, and burgundy-green and red foliage.
Vaccinium corymbosum Cabernet Splash offers the best of both worlds – edible and ornamental. Spring brings new foliage which emerges a deep wine-red and becomes thick and deep green with red highlights. In the fall, plants offer brilliant red fall colour. On the edible side, the white, urn-shaped, spring flowers give way to large, early ripening blueberries just like ‘Toro’, since Cabernet Splash arose as a branch sport of this top cultivar. Very hardy on an upright, robust plant 3-4 feet tall and wide. Use in the edible garden, as an informal hedge, or in a large pot on the patio. Self-fertile but yield increases with another different blueberry close by. Attracts bees and birds. Cultivar name: ‘Vacbri1’
