Tulipa-Triumph ‘Slawa’

Tulipa 'Slawa' is a truly distinctive tulip with purple petals with glowing lipstick red edges aging to burgundy and apricot.

Triumph tulips are among the best of the hybrid tulips with strong stems and classic cupped flowers that bloom in mid to late season. They hold up well to inclement weather and are good for forcing indoors. Tulipa ‘Slawa’ is a truly distinctive tulip. In bud the flowers are purple with glowing lipstick red edges. As the flowers open they become more burgundy with creamy apricot edges. Hybrid tulips can persist in the garden for many years. Afterall, they rebloom each year in the fields of the Netherlands. Provide full sun where bulbs aren’t shaded by other plants, fertilize with bulb food as soon as they emerge in spring, and allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering.
